Rev. Dr. Nana Francis Essel- Okyeahene (PhD)

■ Nyimedee Kesehene (ie Great Chief of Knowledge) of Gomoa Assin Traditional Area

Professionally, he is Chartered Accountant, Chartered Tax Practioner, Educationist, Platational Farmer and a Reverend Minister.

He completed his Middle school leaving Certificate Examination at Gomoa Wassah, Osedze, Pinako (WOP) Methodist Middle B School in 1976

Had his O’Level and Advanced level Certificates at Fiaseman Secondary School-Tarkwa and Nsein Secondary School – Axim respectively.

Hold BSc Administration (Accounting Option) from University of Ghana,

MSc NGO studies and Management from the University of Cape Coast 2008

He studied his Institute of Chartered Accountant professional qualification at the Institute of Professional Studies (UPSA) Legon 2005

Selinus University of Science and Literature Roma Italy- PhD in Educational Administration

Received three honourary Doctorate Degrees one from the International Kingdom University (IKU) of Florida, USA

Other Certificates courses in South Africa- Pretoria in Revenue Management in 2006 under the sponsorship of German Government (InWent) and a Certificate in Computerized Accounting and Leadership from GIMPA

Attended Leadership Training and Public Sector Financial Management in London UK in 2013 and 2017  respectively and Certificate course in Taxation and Finance in Malaysia 2010

He worked with Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) for over 25 years. Headed the Revenue Unit of GRA for over 15 years and retired voluntarily in 2020 at the rank of Assistant Commissioner.

Lectured at GRA Tax Training School- Accra and Takoradi Polytechnic HND Accounting level 3 from 2002 to 2005. Established the Association of Certified Chartered Accountant (ACCA) School at Takoradi Workers College in 2002

Dr Francis Essel-Okyeahene is the immediate Past Vice President of Chartered Institute of Taxation- Ghana (CITG) 2022, a Fellow of Chartered Institute of Taxation-Ghana.

Internationally, he is also the immediate past Vice President of West Africa Union of Tax Institutes (WAUTI) in Abuja-Nigeria 2023

Currently, he is the Founder and Director of Onua Francis International School at Gomoa Buduburam and Young Executive School- YES at Kasoa. For now, these two schools are the leading basic schools in Kasoa Municipality and Ghana at large. He is also the Founder of Executive Community Church (a Non-Denomiational Church) at Kasoa.

Onua Francis (as he is affectionately called) is also a Plantational Farmer with over 130 acres of Coconuts and Cocoa farms. He owns multiples of guest houses at Gomoa Wassah, Gomoa Pinanko and Gomoa Nkran. He has established a modern Cemetery at Gomoa Nkran on Gomoa Afransi road called Onua Francis Cemetery

He is a renounced theocratic with a lot of business minded ideas and acumen.

He has travelled extensively all over the world including Germany, Sweden, Portugal,   United Kingdom, Malaysia, Qatar, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Indonesia, Bali, Senegal, Kenya, South Africa, Nigeria, Togo and many more.

Dr Francis Essel-Okyeahene has won several national and international awards, spanning from Work places awards, Business awards, Educational / Academic awards, Civil Societies awards, and Religious awards. In 2024 for example, he was declared the  “Number 1 Global Award Winner in Education and as Educator” in Indonesia’s capital city, Jakarta, during the Champions of Asia awards Ceremony.

Onua Francis is married to

Mrs Mavis Essel-Okyeahene with four  adults children.

They spent most of their working life at Takoradi and currently at Kasoa-Accra from the humble beginning at Assin Amoakrom and Gomoa Wassah in the Central Region of Ghana.
